9.14.10

As I have grown in confidence with my illustrating and painting, I have grown in my confidence to share them. So, this year, I started painting my nieces and nephews (I have nine of them!) cards for their birthday. I always send them the cash of their age, which is all my husband will allow in terms of gifts. I have no idea why he is like that, just a bit, uh, tight with that. So, I had some fun with my niece A.'s card, and my nephew W.'s card. W's birthday was the day after Thor was born, so I missed it this year, and kept meaning to catch up and now it is six month later, so originally I thought of sending him a half-birthday card, but in the end, I decided on my old ninja fall  back.

Cooper's birthday card. Watercolor and ink.

Yeah, I have been doing more stuff this just this this week, but this is all I managed to photograph. I signed up to do the 21.5.800 challenge which is 21 days of 800 words of writing a day and yoga five times a week. It is awkward to explain, but it has been good to focus on writing and movement. Right now, I have more to write about than time. I always want to write. Always. And I could always sit down and write.I bought a pre-stretched canvas that is four feet by two feet. After all the little ATCs (which I am totally addicted to), I am intimidated by the large canvas. I am planning in my head. And very excited about it.

Wednesday.01.27.10

Belly, Watercolor pencil and ink. 01.27.10

Feeling a bit spent, so I picked up my watercolor pencils to draw a picture for Bea. She wanted me to draw me, and this is what I want to do all the time. Hike up my shirt and hold my belly. She was painting, so I applied some water, then inked it. It is a doodling kind of day. My belly isn't that lopsided, and I haven't worn gigantic vegan boots since my second pair fell apart a few years ago, but you know, mostly like me. I have fatter legs. And sporting a much dorkier looking mullet than this one, which is saying quite a bit, eh?
